Terms and Conditions
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms and Conditions apply to scooter rentals provided by Ampera Ride. Please read them carefully before booking. By renting a scooter from us, you agree to these terms. At the start of your rental you will also sign a rental agreement that incorporates these terms. Ampera Ride is the trade name of Matrade Solutions Kft., registered at 8000 Székesfehérvár, Nagyszombati utca 249, Hungary. Company registration number: 0709035229. Tax number: 32418619-2-07. Contact: info@ampera-ride.com · +36 70 560 2301.
1. Definitions
"We" / "Ampera Ride" / "AR" means Matrade Solutions Kft. "You" means the customer who signs the rental agreement and is authorised to drive the scooter. "Scooter" means the electric moped we make available to you, with all its parts and accessories, for the duration of the rental. "Damage" means any damage to the scooter (including accessories, lights, and mirrors) and to third-party property, where applicable.
2. Driving Licence
Our scooter is an electric moped in the 50 cc category. To ride it you must hold a valid driving licence accepted in Hungary — a car licence (category "B"), a moped licence (category "AM"), or an equivalent international licence — and be able to present it, together with your ID card or passport. If you are from the EU or EEA, your licence is fully accepted. If you are from outside the EU/EEA, we can only accept your licence if it clearly states the eligible vehicle categories in English. If it does not, an International Driving Permit may be required (valid only together with your regular licence). Please check with your local authorities whether you need one for Hungary.
3. Booking and Payment
Bookings can be made via WhatsApp or through our online booking system operated by Booqable. Rental fees and the security deposit are paid online.
4. Security Deposit
A security deposit of €100 is required and must be provided by credit or debit card before the rental begins. The funds are held (not charged) and will be released at the end of the rental once the scooter is returned undamaged and on time. Please note: Visa holds typically last up to 5 days and other cards up to 7 days, so we aim to capture or release within 3–4 days.
5. Using the Scooter
You must check the scooter's condition before starting and notify us immediately of any obvious defect. You must return it in the same condition in which you received it. We recommend taking photos at handover to avoid disputes.
Only you may drive the scooter, and only if your ability to drive is not impaired or restricted by law. Under Hungarian law a moped carries one rider only — no passengers. A helmet is compulsory and is provided with every rental. There is zero tolerance for alcohol or drugs while driving.
You may not use the scooter for delivery services; to transport flammable, dangerous, toxic, or harmful substances; to carry live animals (except pets, with prior permission); to commit any offence; or in any way that breaches the Highway Code or other laws. You are responsible for any traffic fines or penalties arising from your use. Never leave the scooter unattended with the key in the ignition; if you lose the key, you will be charged for replacing the entire lock.
Mopeds are not permitted on motorways or expressways in Hungary.
6. Battery and Range
The scooter runs on two batteries. On a full charge, the two batteries together provide a range of up to 80 km. Actual range depends on road conditions, riding style, and topography. There is no mileage limit, but you must keep an eye on the battery status indicator and plan your route around the available charge.
7. Technical Problems and Assistance
If you notice anything that may indicate a mechanical problem, stop and contact us. We will help as quickly as possible — minor issues can usually be solved on the spot, and where possible we will provide a replacement scooter. Road assistance is free within the city limits.
8. Insurance
The scooter carries compulsory third-party liability insurance, which covers your liability to third parties in an accident involving damage to another vehicle or injury to others caused by your fault. It does not cover damage to the rented scooter or injury to you. If damage or injury is caused by a third party, their insurance must cover it. Comprehensive (Casco) and theft insurance are not available for scooters in Hungary, so we strongly recommend you arrange accident or travel insurance before your rental. In case of an accident, notify us immediately, and — in the event of personal injury or if the at-fault party will not admit liability — also notify the police.
9. Liability for Damage, Theft, or Loss
You are responsible for any damage, theft, or loss of the scooter while it is in your care, unless caused by another driver whose responsibility is officially established. Damage costs are calculated from the cost of parts, labour, shipping, and administration at the tariffs in force, and are payable immediately.
Your liability is limited to a maximum of 1,000 EUR. This limit does not apply if you fail to take reasonable steps to keep the scooter safe, breach the conditions of use, or use the scooter in any unintended way.
10. Cancellation
You may cancel by email to info@ampera-ride.com or by phone. More than 24 hours before the start of the service: no cancellation fee — any amount paid is refunded in full. Within 24 hours of the start: a 100% cancellation fee applies and amounts paid are not refunded. For safety reasons, we reserve the right to cancel a rental in unsafe conditions. If we do, the rental fee is refunded in proportion to the unused period.
11. Privacy and Data Protection

Â
How long we keep it.

Marketing data and tour photos are kept until you withdraw consent.Your rights. Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data; to have it corrected or deleted; to restrict or object to its processing; to data portability; and to withdraw any consent at any time (without affecting processing already carried out).
